Development Log.2
Intro: The development of our client game has been progressing exceptionally well over the past few weeks. Our Project Manager/Level Designer has been diligently ensuring that all levels are soundproof and that the puzzles fit seamlessly within the environment. This meticulous attention to detail has resulted in well-developed levels that offer both challenge and enjoyment. We have also successfully implemented versatile equipable items, allowing players to interact with the game world in various ways. Additionally, I've focused on enhancing the auditory experience by adding immersive sound effects and small details that enrich the game's atmosphere. These collective efforts have significantly improved the game's appeal, creating a polished and engaging experience for players.
What key changes are there: Recently, we implemented several key changes to enhance the game's quality and playability. We focused on updating the levels to make them visually more enticing and refined the underlying code for smoother performance. New puzzles, such as switches that need to be activated, were added to increase complexity and engagement. We also revisited the inventory system and stamina mechanics, making subtle yet impactful improvements for better functionality and integration. Additionally, significant time was invested in developing more intricate puzzles to challenge players and add depth to the gameplay. These updates collectively make the game more visually appealing, mechanically sound, and intellectually stimulating for players.
What was added: What was added were more puzzles and more level details as the key thing is atmosphere and the ambiance of a level. A horror game relies on the look and feel, how the game visual affects you is very key to making a good horror game. More specifically the gem puzzle at the beginning was added along with the darkness corridor, these are in the first level as the first two obstacles you encounter.
What do I need to work on next: More puzzles need to be worked on and improved as well as added to the game so that more play testing can be done. Having a playable game in the full sense means that someone can play a game which has feeling to it. As the first level is nearing completion and the second level is being worked on I need to hurry up with the development of the puzzles and mechanics that need to be in the game at certain points so that we can test and make adjustments as we are going through them.
